About Birth India

Birth India was established in June 2007 to address the issue of the increasingly high numbers of women from all backgrounds in India being led into cesarean sections, unnecessary medical interventions and the harm this is causing to women, children and families.
The Cesarean surgery rate in India's urban areas (according to preliminary studies), is approximately 50% and is estimated to be as high as 80% or more in some private hospitals. The World Health Organization deems it should be no higher than 5 - 15%.

To Improve Maternity Services and Provide Birth Options For The Expectant Mother and Family
To Educate and Inform
To Aid In The Rediscovery Of The Wellness Of The Natural Pre-Natal and Post-Natal Process.

Birth is the last frontier in women's quest for freedom. A women needs to be free to birth her babies as she chooses.
